In general, what do you think about the Carbon Neutral Plan?

Mostly positive

Are there any areas that you think are weak or missing from the plan? If so, what are the areas that you would recommend for inclusion?

I would suggest making more visible consideration of cultural and community needs in accordance with the Equality Act, so that all residents in Greenwich feel included and empowered towards the changes. I also think emphasis on reducing emissions and the impact this would have could be clearer, not just switching to alternatives. For example, using less energy, as well as switching to renewable energy.

Do you support the ambition to become carbon neutral by 2030?

Ambitious enough

How concerned, if at all, are you about climate change, sometimes referred to as 'global warming'?

Concerned

Are you already doing, or have you already done, any of the following?

• Switched to a 100% green energy supplier

• Joined a local environmental group

• Reduce waste, recycle everything possible

• Flying less

• Turn off the lights when I leave the room

• Sourced my food locally

• Turn down thermostat

• I am vegan and don't own a car

• Switched to LED lights

What actions are you willing to take, in addition to what you do now, to help address climate change?

• I am looking to do everything I can to reduce my carbon footprint

What motivates you to take climate action in your own life or as part of a community project?

• Seeing the Council leading the way

• Knowing I’m doing a good thing

• Local young people leading the way

• Being part of a network or group

• Neighbours and local groups leading the way

How much of a priority do you think the climate emergency should be for the Council over the next 5 to10 years?

Very urgent priority

The Carbon Neutral Plan is an excellent start but could be more ambitious. A key area for increased focus is new development. Having watched Planning meetings I would suggest some councillors would benefit from being more aware of the topic - all council decisions need to be made through the lens of the climate and biodiversity crisis

The plans to make some roads across only at certain times is a terrible idea. Being a resident of a nearby road that already suffers from part time closures, all it does is force traffic onto other streets. I don’t want even more traffic and therefore more pollution on my street. Living near a school, it’s mainly parents. Make the schools stop transport by car.

Do you support the ambition to become carbon neutral by 2030?

Too ambitious/unrealistic

Carbon emissions through traffic schemes need looking at again. The Borough has within it one of the few river crossings for people travelling from North of the country to the South (avoiding Central London). The requirement of this to continue cannot be ignored. Likewise the Silvertown tunnel needs to be addressed.

I strongly support the overall aim. And it's clear that in a lot of areas, the council's power is limited/collaborative so applaud Greenwich doing what they can. However, would like to see more ambition for development - why, for example, is only affordable housing covered by the zero carbon standard? Under transport, I'd love to see initiatives to make sustainable transport easy pleasant and safe... but the plan seems mostly initiatives to make life miserable for drivers.
